Black Friday & Cyber Monday Sales

Hello everybody, and a late Happy Thanksgiving. I am thankful for every person who takes the time to read my blog. I know this is a little last minute but I really wanted to get up a Black Friday / Cyber Monday sales post for you all. So this is a round-up of some of my favorite sales happening this weekend.

The first sale I want to talk about isn’t as much of a sale as it is a special offer. Kylie Cosmetics on Black Friday will be doing a free holiday stocking for purchases over $100. Now, I am not a fan of the fact that you have to spend $100 but it is easy to spend on Kylie products, and the stocking is SO cute. She also restocked her holiday edition collection but for those products you have to be quick! One deal that she is offering that I love is that with certain Lip Kit shades (Candy K, Koko K, Posie K, and Exposed) she is offering a free matching gloss with purchase. For Cyber Monday she will be launching her brand new eye brush collection for only $35. Don’t forget that Kylie Cosmetics now offers free domestic shipping on orders over $40, and international shipping for orders over $60.

Now for my favorite actual sale, it will have to be Anastasia Beverly Hills. She is offering a huge sale on her official website only.  Click here to head to the website. Sale prices range from 10-60% off! I made a purchase and received 20% off Stick Foundation, 40% off Cream Contour Kit, 60% off Eye Shadow Singles, and 60% off Contour Refills. They also have 50% off Concealer, 30% off Lip Gloss and much more. Also, their new Pro Brushes were released and are 25% off as well. This sale is happening throughout the weekend and Cyber Monday. Anastasia Beverly Hills is an awesome brand with amazing quality, and I highly suggest taking advantage of this sale while you can.

Also, another favorite sale of mine is that Thursday and Friday Old Navy will be 50% off storewide. Saturday will be 40% off, with Sunday being 30% off and Cyber Monday they will have their website sale at 30% off sitewide. I wear some clothing from Old Navy but I think this is an awesome family deal, also if you have young children Carter’s is offering 60% off storewide and sitewide Friday only, but that is an amazing sale as well.

Some sales I want to mention are BOGO sales. Buy one get one free are always the best kind of sales to me, I love them. This year Target did BOGO for all jar candles, and all picture frames and photo albums. Now is definitely the time to stock up on those things, and this sale is Friday only so you have to move fast. It is definitely worth the trip down to your local Target to check out what they have left. Another awesome BOGO sale is on the Glamglow site, Glamglow is a little on the pricey side but if you use code BOGO2016 this weekend when purchasing a full-size product, you get an additional one for free. It has to be the same exact product, though. For Glamglow, that is a great value.

The final deal I wanted to mention is that Charlotte Russe has everything for $20 or less, in-store and online, as well as free shipping. That is a dangerously awesome sale. So those are all my favorite sales of this weekend. I wanted to just get this up for you guys even though it is last minute, hopefully, you can all snag some awesome sales. Holiday season is keeping me busy in my personal life and work life, but I will be spending the next 3 days working on blog posts for you all. I hope you have an awesome Holiday weekend!

Bite Beauty’s Matte Creme Lip Crayon Review

Hello everybody and happy Monday. I am getting this up a little later than I wanted, so a majority of you are probably just about done with your day now and in for the night. So, I hope you all had an awesome start to your week. This post is going to be a review of the new Matte Creme Lip Crayons by Bite Beauty. Bite Beauty and Influenster were kind enough to send me these lipsticks to review for you all. Although these products were sent to me, I will keep my reviews 100% honest. Let’s get started.

img_5886

I just want to start off by saying that these retail at Sephora for $24 a piece, and I received 3 shades, Cava, Glace, and Red Velvet. I have bought Bite Beauty lipsticks in the past myself, I believe I have 1 regular Bite lipstick from them, and then I have 2 of their duo-ended lipsticks as well. I really enjoy Bite Beauty products, I have found them to be very creamy products, that never dry out my lips, and they also last a good amount of time throughout the day, especially for not being a liquid lipstick. I really love the packaging on these Matte Creme Lip Crayons. They are a soft matte black, and they are just perfect for throwing in your bag and taking on the go. You twist the pen to make the product come out more, and then there is also a little sharpener on the bottom that you can pop out to sharpen the crayon as well. I really like the fact that it comes with a sharpener because lip crayons can get pretty dull and messy.

img_5884
Now for the actual quality of the Matte Creme Lip Crayons. I think that these are really good products, just like other Bite Beauty products I have tried. They are a nice creamy texture, but they are still matte. They don’t make my lips look as dry as other matte lipsticks can do sometimes. They are not 100% transfer proof but if you are careful they last throughout the day quite well. I always keep the shade I am wearing with me, especially if I am eating, to do some touch ups. I wore the shade “Glace” out to go shopping the other day, and I wore it for 4-5 hours with no touch ups. It lasted pretty well and still looked nice at the end. “Red Velvet” is also a nice deep red shade, that I would suggest pairing with a red liner to make sure it doesn’t get too messy. I also got the shade “Cava” which is a new shade, and available online only but I also really enjoy this shade, it is a nice soft nude that looks pretty on a lot of different skin tones.

IMG_5888.JPG

For the price tag of $24, these are a little pricey, but they are nice products so I suggest trying them out if you are somebody who likes to have a variety of lipsticks. I find these similar in quality to Mac lipsticks other than the packaging. I really do enjoy the packaging of these Matte Creme Lip Crayons so I would spend the $24 to purchase these on my own. I also think these could be a great idea as a stocking stuffer as well.

That is it today for my review, so if you haven’t checked out Bite Beauty products before I do recommend them, especially for lipstick lovers. You can find their social media, their handle is @bitebeauty on all social media, or also bitebeauty.com is their website. I also just wanted to let you all know that I have officially hit 500 followers on my Twitter (@corinnascornerx) so if you aren’t already you should go follow me, I will be posting a giveaway this week to say thank you for 500. I have a few posts coming, I am not sure what will be up first but I am thinking my next post will be a review of the new Koko Kollection by Kylie Cosmetics in collaboration with Khloe Kardashian. Thank you all for reading, and have an awesome week.

Makeup Haul/Review ft. Kylie Cosmetics & Jeffree Star

Hello everybody and Happy Friday! I can not believe we are down to our last 2 months of 2016. This year has flown by so quickly for me, but it has been an awesome year. I hope everyone else has had a great year, and we can all end it good as well. This post is getting up a little later than I wanted, and it is a fun makeup haul and some reviews, so let’s get started.

So the first product I want to talk to you all about is something I have been wanting to try out for a while. Cosmetic glitters! I am a part of a wonderful makeup group on Facebook and a lot of the girls on there (and boys) are very talented at makeup, and will do some really awesome looks with glitters. So I asked around and it seemed like a lot of them were using cosmetic glitter from bulkglitters.com as well as using Too Faced’s glitter glue. I have yet to get glitter glue, so I have not been able to wear my glitters in a look yet, but I do have some opinions on them. First, the price is awesome. I got these jars for $1.25 each, and they seem to have enough to last me a very very long time. They have varying sizes, so they even have a smaller jar for $1, and then they have bigger and bigger sizes as well. I thought $1.25 was an awesome price, especially for my first time trying glitters so I went with that. I got 8 different shades, Golden Eye, Star Struck Silver, Mint Julip, Emerald Earth, Slinky Silver, Springtime Blue, Bubblegum, and what appears to be my favorite shade of them all Black Copper Mine. The other thing I noticed about these are that they have different types of glitter, I got 7 different “ultra fine” ones, and then one “fine” glitter. I definitely recommend the “ultra fine” ones, simply because when I am looking at the “fine” one I got which is in Star Struck Silver, I can tell that the glitter specks look a lot bigger, and to me I think I prefer the smaller pieces of glitter. Overall though I am really excited to try them out and if you have any tips on using cosmetic glitters I would love to hear about them in the comments below.

img_5665

Another brand I finally got to try out that I have been wanting to try is Jeffree Star Cosmetics. I know Jeffree Star can be a controversial in the makeup community but I still have heard awesome things about his products, so when he offered free shipping for 24 hours, I knew it was time to try it out. I was really just interested in trying out his Velour Liquid Lipstick formula, so I just ordered one liquid lipstick in the shade “Abused”. I got this shade which is a dark purple-ish black shade because with Halloween just passing I realized I have really never tried a really dark shade before so I figured I could try 2 new things at once. So I just received this yesterday and I have not gotten to wear it out yet, but I did try it on and I noticed 2 things about it. First, I am not sure this dark of a shade works well on me, and second, to me it had a very odd scent. I know Jeffree has some products with scents but I wasn’t sure this was one of them, but to me it almost smells like a strong root beer scent. It was such a strong scent, it made me feel like my lips were tingling. I really wanted to like this formula though, so I will definitely have to give it another try. I’d love to try his highlighters as well.

I also received 2 new liquid lipsticks from Kylie Cosmetics. I have used Kylie Cosmetics before and I love their Lipkits. I think their lip liners are the best lip liners on the market, in my opinion, they are extremely pigmented, creamy, and long lasting. I also have yet to find a liquid lipstick that is as long lasting as hers. I have worn Mary Jo K for 8 hours once with no touch ups. I also own her 3 original gloss shades, which I love. So when I found out on Halloween that she was giving away a free KyMajesty metallic liquid lipstick with every order, I decided to get a new shade of liquid lipstick, so I could also receive KyMajesty and try out her metallic lipsticks. First, let me say that the new matte liquid lipstick shade I bought is “Ginger” and I absolutely love it, it is a beautiful nude, slightly brown, slightly orange shade. Now for KyMajesty. I think it is definitely a unique shade to have, although I am not 100% sure on how I am going to wear it yet. I do think that it almost has a slightly blue tint to the color, which doesn’t bother me but I did originally think it would be more black. The only other thing I can say about KyMajesty and her metallic liquid lipsticks so far is that I thought the formula was a little more clumpy then the matte liquid lipstick ones, and it was just a little more messy to work with. For free, I am very happy with this KyMajesty, if I was actually paying for and purchasing a metallic liquid lipstick from Kylie Cosmetics, I would probably go for a different shade. Overall though, this was not a bad product.

img_5667

Then finally I just wanted to quickly mention some Dollar Tree products that I tried out. I think I mentioned I bought these a while back to you guys, but I finally got around to opening them and testing them out and thought I would let you know what I think. Remember I bought these at Dollar Tree so they only cost me $1 a piece, which is not bad at all, can’t find anything cheaper. So I will start off by saying the L.A. Colors shimmering loose eyeshadow was a complete waste. I am not even going to discuss this product anymore because there is nothing to discuss. With the Elf smudge pot I got the shade “Poppin Party” and I think this is really creamy, and I love the formula but I was expecting a purple shade and it was much more of like a muddy dark gray or black to me. I would definitely like to try more shades though, for $1 it is very worth it. Then the Wet N Wild eyeshadow in the shade “Creme Brulee” is awesome! This is so pigmented and it is a great base shade, or priming shade for your lid before you use other shadow colors. I will definitely be picking more of these up because I think the product was great, especially for being only $1.

img_5666

So that is all for my haul and review today everyone, I really appreciate you sticking around and reading this. I wanted to also let you know I am about 50 followers away from my first Twitter giveaway (@corinnascorner) if you are interested in entering that, make sure you follow me on twitter so you do not miss out. I am also nearing 2K on instagram (Corinnascornerxo) and will be doing an awesome giveaway for that as well. I am hoping to have a Bite Beauty review coming this weekend, and other than that I am not sure what post will be next. I have been really wanting to do more Lifestyle posts, instead of basically only beauty, so let me know in the comments if that would interest you, or if you have any ideas for posts. Until next time.

October Sephora Play

This month I finally achieved a dream of mine, and was able to get off the waitlist and get a subscription to Sephora Play. For those of you who don’t know Sephora Play is a $10 monthly subscription bag from Sephora. You receive 4-5 mini size products, as well as a perfume sample each month for only $10. There is a waitlist and they will email you when a spot opens, from what I have heard and experienced it can take anywhere from 2-4 weeks to get your email invitation. Make sure to watch your email because you only have a small amount of time to accept the subscription before your spot is given away. I really enjoy this box because all the products are of course, sold at Sephora. Let’s jump on in and see what I received.

img_5432

The first thing I noticed in the box was the Madam CJ Walker’s coconut oil. It is suppose to be nourishing and moisturizing for your hair. I have never tried coconut oil in my hair before but I did try this out and I really enjoyed it. It gave my hair a nice shine, and I love the scent of it. It really just made my hair seem extra clean. You only have to use a small amount so I think this size of a bottle will really last me a good amount of time. I probably won’t use it everyday because I think it can definitely make my hair oily if I use it too much. You can purchase 0.5 oz of this at Sephora for $14. I will most likely repurchase if I continue to get the same results.

img_5427

The next product I pulled out of the box was a Smashbox Always On Matte Liquid Lipstick in the shade “Driver’s Seat”. I think this is an awesome shade for fall, and the swatch looks really pretty. It is like a dark, nude mauve color. I have seen a lot about these liquid lipsticks so I am excited to try it out and see how well it wears. These liquid lipsticks retail for $24 full size at Sephora.

img_5430

I also received the Skin Dew setting spray by Farmacy. I have tried Farmacy face masks in the past and I really enjoyed them and thought they were extremely moisturizing so I am excited to try out this setting spray. This says it should be hydrating but I haven’t tried it out yet, I am hoping it hydrates my skin and helps my makeup be longlasting. This retails for $44 at Sephora, full size.

img_5428

The next lip product I grabbed is the Estee Lauder Flash Photo Gloss. I have never heard of this product before but from what I have read it is a gloss to put over a lip color and it will make your teeth look whiter in photos. It has an iridescent blue tint to the gloss. From just swatching the gloss I do feel like it seems pretty thick to me. I am definitely interested in trying this out and seeing if I notice a change in my teeth. I do think it is a very cool idea for a product though. This full sized product retails at Sephora for $20.

img_5431

The final product I received in this bag was Night Serum from the Drunk Elephant. I tried this out last night and I thought my skin looked and felt awesome. My face looked brighter in the morning when I woke up, so I am definitely interested in trying this product out some more. I have heard good things about this brand and this is the first product I am actually trying out from them. This full size product costs $90 so I will have to be really impressed to actually repurchase this item.

img_5429

The bag also came with a small sample of the Derek Lam 10 Crosby perfume in the scent Silent Street, but honestly every bag coming with a perfume sample is not that much of a big deal to me because I have so many perfume samples already, this will just get tossed in with the others. Overall for $10 I do think this bag was pretty cool, I will receive another bag next month and really decide if this subscription is worth it. Thank you all for reading, until next time.

MCM: Morphe’s “The Little Palette”

Hey everybody and happy Monday! For today’s Makeup Crush Monday I am going to be talking about a new Morphe palette. Morphe recently came out with “The Little Palette” and they came out with 5 different ones. The best thing about this product is that they only cost $10. There are 4 shimmer and 4 matte shades in each one. I bought “Copper Popper” and “Coffee Toffee”. The 3 other Little Palettes they have are “Awesome Blossom”, “Mama Drama”, and finally “Coca Mocha”. Also, these palettes are also limited edition just to let you all know.

img_5118

I honestly love these palettes and for $10 I don’t think you can find a better eyeshadow palette. The pigment is awesome, but one thing is that I feel like after you take off the top layer of shadow the pigment does get better, so do not be discouraged at first swatch. The packaging is just cardboard but for $10 you can’t expect much. I also love the cute little drawings on the front, it is a nice touch. I also like how you can peak into the palette without opening it so you can tell them apart if you have multiples. These shadows have the same awesome quality as all other Morphe palettes, and they are really blendable. I haven’t been able to put these down. I also think with the small sleek packaging these are really great to have when traveling.

img_5120

The “Copper Popper” palette is definitely my favorite out of the 2 palettes I own. The burnt orange shimmer shade is one of my favorite eyeshadows I own. “Coffee Toffee” is very similar to “Copper Popper” with the exception that it has much more brown in it, while “Copper Popper” definitely has a hint of copper and orange shades. “Coffee Toffee” is definitely a palette to use for a night out while “Copper Popper” can be used every day. I think these palettes are awesome and I would love to buy the 3 other Little Palettes. Morphe did great, but does that really surprise us?

img_5122

Thank you all for reading. I have a few more posts coming up this week and I am so excited to share them with you all. Cheers to an awesome week ahead of us.

Makeup Haul

Hello everyone and happy Friday! I am so excited for the first weekend of October. I might spend my weekend up in Los Angeles or stay home and enjoy some NFL football on Sunday, I am not quite sure yet. I hope whatever you all have planned that you have an awesome weekend. Now today’s post is a makeup haul post, so let’s jump on in and see all the new goodies I got.

So the first thing I wanted to share with you all is my Elf cosmetics purchase I made. I bought some of their new online products to test out and see what I thought, I prefer to buy Elf online because I feel as if they have so many more products online than in store. The first product I got was their new Molten Liquid Eyeshadow in the shade “Rose Gold”. I swatched this and I love it. I think it looked beautiful and that it also dried down very well, it was also such a pretty color. It truly is a rose gold shade. This was only $4 and I want to go back and buy all the shades, such a good price. I also ordered their new High Shine Liquid Lipstick in the shade “Naked Nude” which retails for $4 as well. Unlike the eyeshadows though, I did not like this product at all. I haven’t tried it on my lips but as a swatch alone I feel like it is very heavy, and also seems messy. It did not dry down at all, it is like a pigmented gloss. I just was not a huge fan.

img_4881

Then I also got 2 more products from Elf that I was really excited for. I got their new $10 Brush Cleaning Glove. I currently use a Sigma brush cleaning mat to wash my brushes, but it is very big and fills my whole sink. This glove is perfect if I am only cleaning a few brushes, or I also think it is perfect to bring on a trip. I have already used it on some brushes and for only $10 I think it is totally worth it. I definitely recommend this product for anyone who is trying to find a better way to clean brushes. I was also very excited to order and try their new Highlighting Dewy Drops. So these drops retail for only $4 and I was thinking they could be a possible dupe for Mac Strobe Cream which is much more expensive, but I love them. I don’t know if this is an exact dupe because I have only swatched it so far but it seems pretty similar to me. From the swatch I can tell that a little bit goes a long way and it does give off a very nice natural highlight. The only thing that worries me is it does seem a bit oily, I am not sure how well it will mix with my foundation or last throughout the day. For $4 though, I definitely think these will be worth it to try.

img_4882

So lastly from Elf I got a free bundle promo for my online purchase. So they sent me a $15 bundle for free with my purchase. The first thing I noticed in the bundle was their Complexion Brush. I am excited to try this out because their Angled Blush Brush is my favorite blush brush ever. This brush is online for $4, and you can get the blush brush for for $4 as well. The next thing I got in the bundle was their Lengthening & Volumizing Mascara in black, as well as the “Matte for Plum” Flawless Eyeshadow Palette. The mascara retails for $3 but I haven’t tried it yet. The wand does look nice though and I am always excited for a new mascara. I swatched the eyeshadow palette and it barely had any pigment, I will probably give it to my Niece or something. The palette retails for $2. I also received the Bronzer palette in the shade “Warm”. This retails for $4, and the packaging actually has a little mirror on the inside which I thought was a nice touch for only costing $4. It has 4 different bronzing shades, but sadly I did not find this product very pigmented either. I have heard good things about it before, so maybe it will wear better on my face. I was not impressed with the swatches of it though. Lastly the bundle came with an EX-tra Lip Gloss in the shade “Michael”. I have not worn this gloss yet but when I swatched it I was shocked. I think it is a very beautiful pink color, and the formula seems nice too. This gloss retails for $3 on the Elf website.

img_4883

The last part of my haul are just some random Walmart purchases I made. The first thing I bought that I wanted to try was the Flower Beauty Stick Foundation. So I haven’t bought makeup at Walmart in a while and I had never seen Flower Beauty before. The foundation stick cost about $8 I believe so I decided to try it out because I love my Makeup Forever foundation stick. I then searched Flower Beauty on my phone and realized it is Drew Barrymore’s cosmetic brand. I have tried this out once since I bought it and I was not a fan of it, but with that being said I did forget to put moisturizer on before applying my primer and foundation. I have extremely dry skin so that could have definitely affected my opinion on the product. I will try it out again. If you are curious, I got it in the shade “SF2”. I also picked up the New York Color BB Creme. I got it in the shade “01 Light”, and I honestly pretty much just got it because it was only $3. I have been loving BB creams lately so once I saw it and saw the $3 price tag I just threw it in my basket because I knew I had to try it. I have not tried it out yet but I swatched a little bit and it seems to have a dewy finish. I am excited to try it on my face. The last product I got was the Maybelline Master Contour V-Shape Duo Stick. I got this in the shade “01 Light” as well, because I am so pale currently. I actually thought this looked like a powder kind of formula, but when I opened it and swatched it I realized it was a cream contour stick and it made me so excited. It swatched beautifully and I am excited to try it out with a full face of makeup.

img_4884

That is all the new products I have bought within the last few weeks. Sadly now that I have moved out this first month I definitely had to hold back on shopping. I also received 2 of the 5 new little Morphe eyeshadow palettes but those will have their own post coming up in the next few days, I have not been able to put them down they are so pretty. Anyways, thank you all for reading this haul and I hope you have a great weekend.

September Favorites and an Unfavorite

Hello everybody and thank you for reading today’s post, which is my September favorites and even an unfavorite. I know it has been quite a while since my last post and I just wanted to tell you guys thank you for sticking through it with me, I recently moved and it has been a little more stressful than I imagined. I will be having a life update post about all that up on Wednesday, as well as a haul/first impressions post up on Friday. I am trying to post every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday this month as well as daily on Instagram. So let’s hope I can keep it up, and let’s jump on into this post.

img_4809

My first favorite for the month of September is actually a product that I tried once and hated, then never picked it up again until this month and I fell in love. It is the Real Techniques 102 triangle concealer brush. I do not even know why I didn’t like this brush at first, I think it is because back then I was only using a beauty blender for my concealer, but now I love using this brush. I switch between this brush and a tiny beauty blender, but I think this brush gets the job done quick. I like using this brush when I use more concealer since the beauty blender I use is so small. I think it has great coverage, and I love the triangular shape it has so I can get all areas covered easily. This retails for $15.00 and I got this at Ulta, but I know it is available online as well.

img_4802

The next favorite I have is the Studio Makeup on-the-go eyeshadow palette. I received this at the beginning of the month in my Boxycharm and I have not put it down. I am so in love with this palette, it is extremely pigmented and blends like a dream. It has a little bit of fall out, but honestly I don’t mind. The very middle shade that is like a dark orange shimmery copper shade is possibly my favorite eyeshadow shade ever. Also, I do not own the Kylie Cosmetics palette but this palette looks like it could be similar, it has similar shades and the same type of packaging. This is definitely my new favorite palette at the moment, and will probably go with me whenever I travel. To me this palette is a little pricey because I have never heard of this brand, but the quality is awesome so I think the $49.95 price tag is worth it if you have the extra cash. You can buy this online on the Studio Makeup website.

img_4803

My third favorite product I have this month is the Jouer essential lip enhancer. I received this product in my Fall September Beautycon box this month, but I have actually used this product before. I finished an entire tube of this product a few months ago and never repurchased but this brought my love for the product back. I use this product every single week day morning before I go to work. It really makes my lips hydrated and I wish I took a before picture because I have started to notice my lips are a lot fuller. I just have the original one, but I also know they sell them in tinted colors. You can buy these on the Jouer website for $16. This is my favorite lip treatment ever, and I think it is definitely worth the money. I might actually go buy a back up right now!

img_4805

My next favorite actually isn’t a makeup product, it is a bracelet I received in my latest Rocksbox. If you do not have Rocksbox, I suggest you go back a few posts and read my post about it. It is an unlimited jewelry rental subscription and has amazing products. You can get your first month free with the code “CORINNASCORNERXOXOXO” and you won’t regret it. This is the silver Moonsong Cuff by Jenny Bird. It is bendable so it can be totally adjusted any size you’d like. I love it. It is so simple but it can go with any outfit, and I am just so in love with it. I actually first saw it worn by youtuber, LeighannSays, and I fell in love with the Jenny Bird brand. That is how I knew to put Jenny Bird on my Rocksbox wishlist. This retails for $85 on the Jenny Bird site, but you can get it at a discounted member price if you do decide to sign up for Rocksbox.

img_4807

My final favorite for the month of September are the Tarte Lip Sculptors. I have the shade Rogue which is a dark berry shade, and I also have the shade Basic which is the perfect nude shade. These are lipsticks on one end, with a matching lipgloss on the other end. I always wear lipstick under my gloss, so I love how these shades match perfectly and I’m not searching for a gloss and lipstick that match. I also really like the formula of the gloss, it is long lasting and not too sticky. These are exclusive to Ulta, and retail for $24 which I think is a great price especially because they are like a 2 for 1 product. Basic is definitely my favorite shade out of the 2 I purchased.

img_4806

So now for my unfavorite for September. I really do not like the Ole Henriksen sheer transformation moisturizer. I tested this product out a few months ago and thought it was making me oily, so stopped using it. I started using it again to give it another chance and I am convinced this product breaks me out. I rarely ever ever ever get acne, maybe 1 or 2 zits at a time. Using this product at one point I had 6 different problem spots on my face. It was ridiculous and the worst my skin has ever been. Once I stopped using this moisturizer, it was fine again. I am not even going to look up the price of this product (although I do think it is $15 at Sephora for the smallest size)  because I do not want you all to waste your money. So disappointed in this moisturizer.

img_4808

That is it for this post, and the end of September 2016. I hope you all had a great month and here is to an awesome October. I can’t wait for Fall and the holiday seasons. I am so ready! Until next time, thank you all for reading.

Fall 2016 Beautycon Box

Hey everyone! It is officially the best time of the year, also known as the Fall season! Today I am going to break down the Fall 2016 Beautycon Box. For those that do not know, Beautycon Box is a seasonal subscription and each box comes out to be $38 after shipping and everything else. Each box is over $100 in value and has a collaborator who is typically a social media influenster. So this box is done in collaboration with Makeup Shayla and Angel aka Mac Daddy. Let’s jump on into the box then.

The first thing that catches my eye are these cute little accessories that don’t typically come in these boxes. There is a little bag of some cute pink gummy sugar lips by Sugarfina. I also noticed a really cute lipstick pin by Laser Kitten. These things don’t typically come in the box but I think they are really cute unique touches. Also Beautycon threw in some really cute stickers that definitely match Shayla and Angel’s personalities. I especially love the sticker that looks like Shayla’s dog Titus. There is also a sketch of Angel & Shayla done by @rongrong_devoe_illustration on instagram, and it is an awesome piece of art.

Next I notice the Flutter Lashes. I am extremely excited about these because they are the “#islay” lashes which were actually created in collaboration with Shayla. These are also limited edition lashes, so that is pretty cool they were included. Shayla is always wearing these lashes on snapchat and I love the way they look. They also included a small tube of the clear white Duo eyelash glue, so that is great because you are ready to wear your lashes now.

The next product I grab out of the box is by Simple skincare and it is a pack of their cleansing facial wipes. I have tried Simple wipes before and I honestly am not a fan. I typically just use these wipes for swatches, or just keep them in my car for emergencies. I found them to be really rough on my skin.

img_4471

Jouer’s Essential Lip Enhancer is the next product in the box and I am so excited because this is actually one of my holy grail products and I recently ran out of it. This product is great at hydrating and refreshing your lips. Shayla also uses this quite often on snapchat, and I have been using it for at least 2 years. It also really helps with the fullness of your lips, I highly recommend this product.

img_4473

The next product is a Double Ended Highlighter Pencil by The BrowGal. I have never heard of this brand before but anything with the word “highlighter” can make me excited. I swatched this pencil and I can already tell it is a very creamy texture, seems to blend well and it does look like it could be a very pretty brow highlight. One end is matte and the other end is shimmer. I think by the looks of it, I would use the matte to highlight my brow, and maybe use the shimmer end as an eyeshadow color. Both shades are very pretty and creamy.

img_4474

The next 2 things in the box are a Milani eyeshadow in the shade “Bella Taupe” and an Ofra Cosmetics liquid lipstick in the shade “Mocha”. I have a few Milani products that I love but I have never tried their eyeshadow so I am excited to give this a try. It says it is a Gel Powder Eyeshadow, and it is a pretty soft brown taupe shade. I also own quite a few Ofra products, including liquid lipsticks but I do not own this shade. This is a very pretty mauve shade, and I think it is perfect for fall.

img_4475

Also in the box is Mocha-Kyssed Bronzer Lotion by Mystic Tan. I am really fair skinned and to me, I am really picky about my self-tanners so this is kind of a miss for me. There is a chance I will try it after looking at reviews, but I rarely self tan especially during the fall months. You also receive a Large Angled 504 Luxie Brush. I have never tried any Luxie brushes but I have heard good things about them, and it seems really soft so I am excited to try this one out the next time I do my makeup.

And that wraps up the Fall 2016 Beautycon Box. I think this was a pretty good box, and a good deal for less than $40. I do admit I like previous boxes more, but this is still not bad. The main misses for me were the Simple wipes, and the Mystic Tan lotion. I should definitely be getting use out of everything else though. Until next time everyone, thanks for reading!

Beauty Wishlist

Hey everyone, for today’s post I decided to share with you all the top 5 items I have on my current beauty related wish list. There is no specific order of these items but they are my top 5, and I have not purchased any of these items before. Let’s get started.

First on the list is, Josie Maran Vibrancy Argan Oil Foundation. So I absolutely need to get my hands on this foundation. Beauty youtuber, Jaclyn Hill, raves about this foundation and swears it is amazing. I have pretty dry skin so any type of foundation that is suppose to make my skin dewy and vibrant, I want to try it. I also love Josie Maran’s other products, especially her argan oil. I typically mix a drop or two into my foundations I use now, so for this foundation to already have it, it is perfect. You can get this at Sephora for $45.

Number 2 on the list goes to, the Smashbox Photo Finish Primer Water. I have never tried a primer that is like this primer before. I love the fact that it is just a nice light water that you mist onto your face and you don’t have to rub it in. To me, it doesn’t seem like it would be cakey or heavy on your skin. Like I said previously, I have dry skin so the fact that this is suppose to hydrate and revitalize your skin really attracts me. This goes for $32, full size.

The number 3 spot on the list is the Wave Spray by Ouai. Now I really want to try not only this product, but the Ouai brand in general. Jen Atkins is the creator of the Oaui hair care brand and she is a really respected hair stylist in the beauty world. I have been seeing a lot of good reviews about this spray and I know Khloe Kardashian uses it quite a bit too. This spray is suppose to give you cute, beach style waves without the crunchy dryness that other sprays can give you. It goes for $26.00.

The next product on my list is by Nails Inc. It is their Paint Can Spray On Nail Polish. You can buy this unique product at Sephora for only $12. Now I have a huge obsession with packaging. If a product has cute, interesting, and eye-catching packaging then I am going to buy it. So not only do I love this packaging and think it is super cool that it looks like a spray paint can, but I also love the idea of just spraying on my nail polish. I hate painting my nails, so if using this product is as easy and mess free as it is advertised to be, I would love to try it.

Finally, the #5 spot goes to the Cover FX Custom Enhancer Drops. These drops go for $42 and are an amazing highlighting product. From the swatches I have seen these drops look like liquid metal. I also love the fact that they are drops, so you can customize your highlight however you want. You can mix shades, mix it with your foundation, and use as much or as little as you want. I have also seen people just use it right on top of their foundations. They have six different shades, 4 highlights and 2 bronzers. To me this product definitely looks like a must try product.

Elf Cosmetics Review

Hey everyone! I know it has been a while since my last post, thanks for sticking with me, I plan on having a lot more content coming this Fall. Today I am going to do a brand review on Elf Cosmetics. I have a lot of products from them so let’s jump on it.

IMG_3990

So for when it comes to eyes, I own 7 different eyeshadow duos from Elf. I got these during the holiday season, at Target. For the eyeshadows, I think they are very pigmented especially for the price. You can buy eyeshadow palettes from Elf for $6-$10, as well as eyeshadow trios for only $4. The eyeshadows can be a little patchy, and also a little difficult to blend, but for the price I really don’t think they are too bad. You can definitely make them work if you are makeup shopping on a budget.

When it comes to Elf face products, I will first discuss what products I dislike, and then which products I do like.

I have tried the Elf daily hydration moisturizer ($8), as well as the hydrating primer ($6) and I dislike both of those products. I felt like they weren’t hydrating, they just made my face slightly oily and then it went back to being dry. The primer is extremely oily and did not help my makeup last longer at all. I also dislike Elf concealers. I have tried the Elf perfect blend concealer ($2), and it is extremely liquidy. It has barely any coverage and I feel like you really have to cake it on for just the smallest amount of coverage. It does nothing for me and it was really just a waste of money. I also have the under eye conceal & highlighter which is a duo liquid stick. It also has no consistency and has basically no coverage. The highlighter is white with glitter in it, which I dislike. The concealer is better than the other concealer but still little to no coverage at all. I also have the flawless face powder which I liked the color and how creamy it was, but it was not long lasting and also you had to really put it on to get the right amount of coverage.

For face products I do like, I really like their cream products. I really enjoy the Contouring blush & bronzing cream ($4). I own it in the shade St. Lucia, and it is a really pretty color. The creams are very blendable and a little bit goes a long way. I also have the HD blush in the shade Headliner ($3). It is a very pretty pink color, and it also blends amazing. The only thing I dislike about the blush is that it is difficult to pump out, and can get a bit messy, but for the price I think it is an amazing product.

So for Elf lip products, I will review the ones I have in order from top to bottom of the swatches. The first lip swatch is of the “Nude Pink” lip liner ($3), which also has a lip brush on the other end. I do think this liner is very creamy, and a very pretty color. I like that it has a brush, even though the brush is a little bit on the bigger side for a lip brush. I do have to say though that I prefer NYX lip liners over this one. This liner is easy to smudge and is not transfer proof at all. The next two swatches are of the Matte lip colors ($3), in the shades Natural, and Cranberry. I do love these lip pencils, they are very creamy and pigmented. The color is beautiful. I just recommend keeping the pencils on you because you will need to reapply, but they are a very pretty and not drying on the lips at all. The next swatch is of a jumbo lip gloss stick ($2) in the shade Pink Umbrella. I don’t really like this product, I think it is a little heavy on the lips formula wise, and it wasn’t very much like a gloss either. Lastly is the lip balm tint ($2), which is a very light pretty color. This is a good product to use for a light soft color on your lips, and a light formula that is good for dry lips. I sometimes just apply this over chapstick for a soft hint of color.

IMG_3988

Lastly are just some random Elf products that I own. My hands down favorite Elf product ever is their angled blush brush. I use this brush every single day for my blush, and I love it. It is so soft and blends my blush just perfectly. The brush is only $4, it is amazing. I also own the daily brush cleaner ($3) and I use it occasionally if my brushes are getting really dirty, but I don’t think this is a must have product. It doesn’t do an amazing job cleaning brushes, but it is alright if you are switching shades and using the same brush. I also have the makeup remover pen ($3) and I think I will just stick to q-tips or makeup wipes. This product dries out easily and also isn’t great at removing makeup. I was really disappointed. One product I own that is not pictured is the lip exfoliator stick ($3) and I love using that product when washing my face. I use it to get the dry skin off of my lips when they are chapped, and it works great. For $3, I think it is totally worth the money.

IMG_3989

Alright guys, that is it for my post today. Let me know if you have any must-have Elf products that I should try. Overall I think Elf Cosmetics can definitely be hit or miss, but for the price it is always worth a try. Thanks for reading!
